Personal Auto Insurance
Not all auto insurance is created equal, and the time of an accident is not the time to find out what coverages you are missing. Price is only one of many important considerations when choosing your auto insurance. At Nevada Insurance Exchange, Inc., we take the time to explain all of your coverage options and the benefits of each, so you can make an informed decision. Any company can save you money if they sell you a weak policy.
Remember, a low priced policy holds no value if the coverage you need isn't there at the time of an accident.
In addition to the price, available coverages, limits of liability, physical damage coverage and deductible are all important factors in choosing the correct policy for your needs.
Bodily Injury Liability: Pays the medical, hospital, ambulance, pain and suffering and lost wages expenses you are legally liable for if you cause an accident. Having the correct limit of liablity is important to protect yourself from a lawsuit if you cause a bad accident.
Property Damage Liability: Pays the cost of repair or replacement of others' tangible property that you damaged during an accident. Includes loss of use expenses.
Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist Coverage: Provides backup protection in case you are injured by a negligent driver who does not have insurance in force, or whose limits of liability are too low to cover all of your medical expenses. Recent estimates are that 17% of Nevada drivers and 25% of California drivers are uninsured. Approximately 35% of drivers in both states have only the required minimum limits.
Physical Damage Coverage (Comprehensive and Collision): These two coverages protect your vehicle from most sources of damage. They will pay to repair your vehicle or pay you the actual cash value of the vehicle if it is a total loss. A deductible applies to this coverage. Having the right deductible for you is an important consideration and affects the cost of the coverage.
Medical Coverage: A very important coverage. Provides a set amount of coverage for anyone in the vehicle at the time of any accident. This is non-fault coverage as it will pay regardless of who was at fault in the accident. This coverage also helps with deductibles and co-payments if you have health insurance.
